Lauren Benner- Owner, Coach, Educator
Benner grew up in Annapolis, MD and started playing lacrosse in the second grade. She continued to be a multi-sport athlete through high school. Benner played lacrosse collegiately at the University of Virginia (2006-2010) where she was a 2x ACC Champion, NCAA Final Runner Up, IWLCA All-South Regional Team selectee and VaSID All-State Team selectee.
Having redshirted her second year at UVA, Benner chose to pursue her fifth year of eligibility at the University of Denver (DU) from 2010-2011, while pursuing an M.S. in Strategic Communications. Benner served on the DU coaching staff from 2011-2015 specializing in defensive and goalie coaching. Throughout this time in Colorado she also officiated youth, high school and collegiate women's lacrosse games and was a member of the Colorado Women's Lacrosse Officials Association. She also served as the club director to Denver Summit Lacrosse from 2011 to 2015.

In September of 2015, Benner expanded her coaching resume, joining the University of Louisville's women's lacrosse staff. She served as their Offensive Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator until August of 2016. During that season University of Louisville made it to a Sweet 16. Missing friends, family and the Colorado lifestyle, she made the decision to move back to Denver and start Line 39 Lacrosse in October of 2016. In addition to all of her coaching and officiating experience, Benner was hand selected to be a Team STX athlete in 2013 and competed nationally and internationally until fall of 2016.
Benner shifted into the independent school realm heading the Varsity Girls Lacrosse program at Valor Christian High School (Highlands Ranch, CO) while also working in their athletic department full time as an Athletic Administrator from September 2017 until August 2020. At Valor she set the school records for most wins, furthest playoff advancement (Final Four 2019) and most post-season player awards. Additionally Benner coached Valor to their first ever League Championship (2019) and was the CHSAA State Coach of the Year recipient (2019). She served as the Executive Director for the Colorado Girl's Lacrosse Association from July 2017 to April 2019. Benner also officiated youth, high school and college games until Spring of 2020.

After 5 rewarding year back in Colorado, Benner decided to get back into college coaching. She spent the 2022 season on staff at the University of Loyola, Baltimore. Loyola's defense was among the nation’s elite, ranking third in the country in scoring defense (8.05 goals allowed per game). Greyhound goalie Kaitlyn Larsson ranked third in the country in goals allowed per game with an average of 8.25 per contest. The team won a Patriot League Championship and made an NCAA Elite 8 appearance that season.

Most recently, Benner held Associate Coach and Recruiting Coordinator titles at the University of Notre Dame from 2022-2025. Benner was the Defensive Coordinator and goalie coach responsible for individual player development for defensive midfielders, defenders and goalies, creation and implementation of defensive team strategy and creating and administering scouts strategically determining the defensive game plan. While at Notre Dame the team advanced to the NCAA Elite 8 (2023) and NCAA Sweet 16 (2024). Benner coached 9 All-Americans.

Benner moved to Portland, OR in June of 2025.
